Supporting ABRacing at Silverstone

The Isuzu DMax DL40 is a great vehicle which has a class leading towing capacity, despite having a 1.9L engine, which puts out 162bhp and having 360nm torque. The towing ability is second to none with a very well-suited engine and gearbox combination, which makes it the perfect vehicle to tow a race car to Silverstone with!

We wanted to support Adam Brown with this race weekend at Silverstone with the Classic Sports Car Club, where he would be competing in a 60 car field around the iconic Silverstone GP circuit in a championship called Tin Tops. We used the Isuzu DL40 to tow Adam’s highly tuned Ford Fiesta MK6 race car to the track, along with taking all the spare parts and tools needed for the weekend.

Adam had a brilliant qualifying session, and managed to get his Fiesta into second position out of 60 cars, which is the maximum capacity for a Silverstone grid. The race, Adam had one task to do, which was to gain one more place to get into first however this isn’t as easy as it sounds. With 58 cars behind Adam hunting him down to fight for 1^st place, it was going to be a frantic 40 minute race to fight for the win. With a mandatory pitstop in the race, and Adam’s team calling him in at the right time, he went onto win the race overall! A 1^st place podium for Adam overall and which also means 1^st place in his class!
